there's a way with a system called slide-card or something if you have the old 'big' playstation.
No modding needed.

Please nobody do the slide card trick. It isn't 2002 anymore so just do the memory card exploit if you want to play PAL games without a modchip.

And how do you do that?

Yes, good question!

How to do that Ameratsu?

Don't listen to all the pirates here.
I have serious doubts an american PS2 will ever be able to play PAL games.
And I'm pretty sure there's no 60 Hz mode in FF games on PS2.
And I'm pretty sure NTSC PS2 are unable to play 50 Hz material. So you're screwed I think.
Forced to pay 100 € for the PS2. Or just buy a DS to play these FF games.

Hard to say it was always PAL gamers wanting to run NTSC games and not the other way around :)

What? It's the same damn PS2 everywhere. Differences are the power supply and region lock. Even if the game had a 60Hz mode, it still wouldn't put out NTSC colours.

Ei Kiinasti.

Eikä Japanisti.

Vaan pannaan jalalla koreasti.

Nintendo games sell only on Nintendo system.

You only can't play PAL games directly on a NTSC ps2 with a NTSC tv.

However, you can still buy the game, rip the iso and apply a generic PAL/NTSC selector patch.

Obviously your ntsc ps2 needs some sort of backup solution though. See my last post.

I'm probably already pushing it so don't ask me for any more information, research this yourselves please.
