I seriously doubt WiiFit will pass Halo3, unless the Wii continues selling the way it does. Proven fact. only 2 Wii games have outsold Halo3. (it's been out for a week, watchout WiiPlay, It's catching up fast)

 That leaves only 1 Wii game that has outsold Halo3... and it comes with quite a few wii's for free...

Yet the Wii has sold more units. New, reliable, units.

The 360 has hundreds of thousands of broken/defective units. The Halo3 launch is truely amazing in terms of how many people bought it.

Kwaad: There are no less than 7 games already out on DS which will beat Halo 3's lifetime sales, and all of which may reach 10M lifetime sales. And no, it won't beat Wii Play, which has already crossed the 6M mark, and will easily sell 10M. So... Beating Zelda, as it did last gen, doesn't mean much. Nintendo has a whole slew of franchises bigger than both Halo and Zelda...

Holy shit, I have nothing to say Kwaad. Really, I have no comeback. All I have is that Super Mario Galaxy will outsell Halo 3 lifetime but that doesn't do anything.

I still haven't seen any real evidence that Halo 3 will greatly exceed sales of Halo 2. Around 10m - maybe a little more.

WiiFit is still a real unknown at this stage - so we can only estimate based on promise. But I can't see any reason why it wouldn't have the "reverse" Halo sales curve. Start slow (based on shipment), and almost exponentially increase.

I think it has a reasonable chance to sell 10m units by Jan '09 - assuming Nintendo can manufacture/ship that many units. There should be around 40m Wiis out by then.

I don't see Halo3 as being "that" amazing at all. Its bound to have one of the biggest (%?) 1st-week fall offs in history. It does have an excellent attach rate - but its also the reason most people would have bought a 360 in the first place.

Dang, John Lucas ain't getting no love in this thread.

I was gonna type something about how WiiFit will be the opposite of Halo 3 in terms of the longterm sales rate, but I find Mr. Lucas's chutzpah so charming I have agree with him: First week sales of Halo 3 will be completely dwarfed by those of WiiFit.
