I think the problem Sony faces is that all of their major sellers are in remission. GT, FF, MGS all have diminishing sales and are fairly hardcore (GT less so, but still). On the other hand MS is creating new IP with its partners that is exploding like Gears, Lost Planet and dead rising. It also has many new titles coming out like Mass Effect, Lost Odyssey and Alan Wake that are expected to have strong sales where Sony's new IP have largely sold poorly (Warhawk, Lair HS).

Sony still has brand name, but you can no longer argue that they are gaming's Mecca.

In addition to that, its major sellers are expected to grow, not slow. Immediate examples are Halo, Fable, Ninja Gaiden etc.

Excepting that all those exclusives stay exclusive as of now, your still ignoring the fact that the only major systems sellers there are the umpteenth sequel of series that are in remission. In addition to this, your rumours section is MASSIVELY optimistic. But most of all, your simply ignoring the brilliance of the 360 (and probably wii though i know less about it) line-up.

There you go, i made a better quality line-up. It is made even better in comparison given that FFXIII will not be in the PS3's 2008 line-up. It could also be enhanced by the possible, but by no means assured, addition of Tekken 6 and MGS4.

AAA has to be decided by each individual I guess. There is no "standard" for AAA games. I read an article earlier where a guy listed 17 AAA games coming out on the 360 next year (Conan included)...I love and am looking forward to many of them (especially Lost Odyssey & Fable II) but there are not 17 AAA games coming out on the 360 next year IMO.

You will never hear me say that I think a review determines AAA games (it is only a small, small part of the equation)...In my opinion many things determine a AAA game...personal opinion, Popular opinion, the "what its done for gaming" tag, console movers, reviews, sales, and history determine AAA games. Popular opinion isn't decided by you or me...it's decided by sales and consoles moved by particular franchises. I'm not quite sure how calling three games AAA is abusing it.

Simple...Sales--YES, History--YES, Reviews--Yes, Console Sellers--Yes, Hype--Yes

This may be a list of the only games/franchises I feel are AAA...a very rare prestige...many AA games exist (Ratchet & Clank, Bioshock, God of War, etc.)

FF=AAA

Halo=AAA

Gran Turismo=AAA

Gears of War=AAA

MGS=AAA

Mario=AAA

Zelda=AAA

Grand Theft Auto=AAA

And those are the only games that I think are AAA. A very small list for me. (You don't have to agree!...heck, I don't even like some of those games personally, but I can't deny their power) But each of those games/series can claim something that no others can claim.

lol, it's better than some of you goofballs calling Conan AAA...now that's ridiculous.

Rather than insulting three incredible franchises (which even the harshest non-fanboy critics would consider AAA franchises regardless of personal opinion), you would actually gain a little credibility by saying, "Those are three great games, but I just don't think they'll be enough."

And Shadow of the Colossus didn't sell that bad--it is a "Greatest Hits" afterall...although I don't find it deserving of AAA (possibly an A)...no, only a select few games reach that criteria.

You can't determine AAA games by a "fun"...it's a large combo of factors in my opinion...if you disagree, that's fine--it's the beauty of differences.

well all the ones in the rumor section are based on what was at E3 05, and 06 and TGS 05 and 06.. so really its based off of fact... on the other hand MGS4 and Tekken have never been shown at a MS press conference

Alright, in MY opinion, sony has a LITTLE bit better of a lineup, and the only reason is the fact they have a few more proven franchises, but if the games 360 has coming out are huge hits, then ps3 has nothing on 360 at all.

 i shouldnt have even attempted to do that list but i didnt want anyone to think that its all about the ps3 next year..360 has a stellar lineup too... ps3 does have the better one though hands down.. have  a nice mixture of new and old franchises... all on schedule for 08 as of right now... and if that rumour list comes true in which i think it will for most of those games on that list.. for holiday o8 then that lists brilliance multiplies by 2...

WOW dont try to attemt to do another 360 list again... you missed the ball on that one.. even though i too think ps3 lineup is better for next year.. but you completely missed the ball on that 36o list...
