...Weren't we supposed to be amazed at the 1m+ selling capacities of Lair, Heavenly Sword and Warhawk?

The PS3 has *maybe* 3 real good, exclusive IPs to counter MS's 3-4 exclusive IPs. Bad part is, X360 has the difinitive Grand Theft Auto 4, which just about counters every smaller IP that PS3 will have.

So next year, it'll be a stalemate between the PS3 and X360.

You guys are foolishly missing the point then...a heavyweight is a PROVEN AAA game...don't even compare a game like Lair to Final Fantasy, MGS, or Grand Turismo...(Sure, maybe some fanboy's did, but don't cast stones at an innocent)

Lair (terrible game by the way), Heavenly Sword (fun but short), and Warhawk (great game) mean nothing to the casual consumer...they didn't play any of those on their ps2 (Warhawk on psone is probably an older game than most of you on this forum)...Sure maybe fanboys hyped those games up, but I'm sorry, those, and you, forum junky's don't determine AAA games, sales history and the 100,000,000+ past conosole owners do.

As I've said before...my 360 has better games than my ps3...I love both consoles, I just think the ps3 has a line-up to be reckoned with next year....if you don't you're foolish.

I'll have to agree with a lot of the people on this thread, it is too hard to compare the software of PS3 with 360 and Wii when the latter two haven't had a need to showcase or announce the vast majority of their 2008 lineup

Okay, Sorrow, so proven exclusive franchises for next year that are exclusive to the PS3:

Tekken 6
Metal Gear Solid 4
Final Fantasy XIII - if it hits 08
Gran Turismo 5

4 actual "big-ish" exclusives. Am I the only one that isn't impressed?

Once upon a time, Final Fantasy would have been a deal maker for me. 

Sadly, that time is long since past.

Those titles will be good, but none of them scream "You must buy a PS3 now!!!" to me.

Sony will likely have more to come though.

Heres the thing though. FFXIII is big but its the ultimate hardcore title. Its just like Halo 3 didn't move a humongous amount of systems. By 2009, almost EVERYONE that "must" play FFXIII will already have a PS3. FF is loosing players with each iteration, not gaining them.

MGS4 will move some systems, but unless it does something ridiculous like shift a million PS3's, it WILL come to the Xbox 360, because Konami executives have said they will port it too "other systems" (which means PC or 360) if it doesn't get great sales. Even if they dont port it, this game too is extremely hardcore.

Tekken 6 is a strong title, and i do thing it will move some systems because it is more casual and i think it has a stronger likelihood than MGS4 to stay exclusive.

GT 5 is a true system seller, so i do think it will move some systems.

All-in-all, no Mrstickball, your not the only one that is un-impressed.

When all is said and done, the X360 will by far have the stronger line-up 2008.

MGS4 will not be a PS3 exclusive, only Sony-fans in denial keep believing it will. MGS4 will be on X360, and that fact will make some people glad, some people sad, but personally I don't care for MGS at all... boring games IMO.

Not much interest in Grand Turismo either because I prefer racing games with damage models.

FF XIII would be nice on the X360 though, but Square are making so many Final Fantasy-spinoffs and whatnot so the X360's J-RPG-department will remain in good health anyway.
