There you go, i made a better quality line-up. 26 games, over half of which are exclusive. It is made even better in comparison given that FFXIII will not be in the PS3's 2008 line-up. It could also be enhanced by the possible, but by no means assured, addition of Tekken 6.

Lol, and you didn't get one. How did I know that you'd have nothing to say about the rest of my list, but you'd pick that one part to refute. Even if the 360 doesn't get MGS4 in 2008 (and many signs indicate it will, ESPECIALLY the behaviour of Konami executives), it still has a higher quality and higher quantity line-up than the PS3 for the year at this point in time.

I hate the PS3 and everything it stands for, but I will give it this, it's 2008 lineup is really good. I know Gran turismo is a multi million seller. It's not halo big but over time gran turismo games sell a fucking lot, and I don't even know why because I think they all suck (burnout ftw). In 2009 the PS3 will probably do a lot better than it is now but I don't know if it will ever pass the 360... with as many games that are out for it now and you know some developers will announce crap next year, slim chance the PS3 will surpass the 360 as far as sales go. And the Wii well... it's in a league of it's own pretty much lol. There could be absolutely no games for it and people would still come into my store asking for a Wii with Wii play + a nunchuk, no matter what. Definitely the winner of this gen which is good for nintendo cause the last console winner they had was the SNES days :s And let's not even get started on the DS lol...

The PS3 wont do that badly in the year 2008, its just that it will do badly compared to the reputation (lol, fast-dying reputation) of its brand name. People seem to forget that the PS3 is coming of the 70+% market-share of its predecessor. Anything less than 55% market share for the PS3 this generation is fairly pathetic, because it will symbolize the downfall of Sony's gaming supremacy brought about by their arrogance. On the other hand, if either of the other manufacturers even approach 40% marketshare this gen it will be a tremendous victory.

So your left with one exclusive which is a sequal to a game that got over 90% that is likely to ship in '08. You have one or two (depending on if you count Unreal as over 90% using the PC rank) non exclusives with their predeccesor scoring over 90%. You have 3 exclusives which had prequels between 80 and 90%. You have 4 games that arent exclusives that have prequels between 80 and 90%.

Of course some of those unproven IPs are bound to do well, LBP in particular looks promising, but its hardly the strongest line up ever.

Why do review scores matter? Reviews contain bias opinion...Sales #'s should be what you use.

Yes the install base is different, but the install base was much smaller when most of those games were released and it was because of those games that the install base grew...without those games Sony would never have sold anywhere near the # of ps2's it did.

Good games are what grow install bases, and good games are measured by series followers and past sales trends, not what some four eyed nerd reviews a game score at. Eitherway, give the ps3 a chance at it's heavyweights before you force it to throw in the towel.
