sguy78 Sure I'm attacking just like the people did earlier in this tread even though they didn't say anything negative towards you. This tread was going nowhere fast a long time before I put in my 2cents.

Questioning someone's intelligence, and calling them an asshole would be considered an attack chief.

you know why it's that way? It's because there's a shit load of money to be made with new medicine

Yeah.  Kinda my point.

If there isn't a shit load of money to be made... and that money goes away...

it doesn't get replaced.

A LARGE chunk of the worlds medical funding suddenly goes down the drain.

Wouldn't this negativly effect future discoveries drastically and in turn negativly effect future healthcare?

About (+-)50% of research funding comes from big pharmaceutical compagnies and they tend to be more competive then cooperative some if compagnie A discover cure for aids they won't give the info to compagnie B so compagnie B will still spend money to cure aids, what I want to say with that is a lot of that 67$ goes to waste so more money doesn't mean more cures but , yes there's a but, more money doesn't hurt either that's why the Us is the leading country in new cures

1) Ever hear the saying "Competiton is the mother of inovation."  Competion drives innovation and ideas and in general thinking.  Companies are more willing to fund "outside the box" thinking because who knows it may lead to their new billion dollar industry.

Besides don't sceintists compete in other countries?  Don't multiple genetiscists go up for the same grants in how to cure soemthing?  Instead of a few people getting grants... it's like every scientsit gets a grant and who knows which one will be the one to crack the code or be able to understand what's wrong... etc.

2) The best doctors and researchers are not always the people who love what they do.  Often times people HATE their job but they do it for the big payoffs.

So... the point still stands.  Less money, and also do to less profit, less intellegent people wanting to be researchers etc.

Typical Sguy post in this thread:

"OMG, STOP ATTACKING ME YOU STUPID LIBERAL!" I swear, even the slightest thing...

Anywho, 2-4 quotes doesn't have me entirely convinced. A multitude of gaffes that no sane person would make? Something on the scale of McCain's "Ahmadinejad" slip-up? Until then, he's just another politician who has said some stupid things.

Again, just keep putting words in my mouth pal. You just can't keep it on the topic. Show me where I said your quote of me. You can't because you made it up to fit with what you are saying.

Oh please, you're a complete hypocrite. If that's how you're going to act the whole time you're on this site, I don't see you making it past a couple hundred posts. It's not a direct quote (and anyone could have figured that out), but it summarizes most of your posts in this thread. Pretend like people are attacking you (even if they aren't), and then immediately label them a liberal just for disagreeing with you. I am tempted to say "typical conservative tactic," but that's insulting to conservatives.

Quote me specifically. If I make a comment on a specific topic, and you say that I have no idea what I am talking about, you are not keeping it on topic. That is changing the subject, and attacking the other person. An example would be saying, "Oh please, you're a complete hypocrite". It is not a summary of anything I have said, and you know it. That is a typical liberal tactic.

God I hate politics threads. Didn't someone make a politics forum somewhere else? There are 5 reports in the mod job queue and four of them are from this annoying thread.
