Most of them were from memory and I forgot some of my fav games (Arc the lad e.g.).

- Parasite Eve 2 is an adventure game if I remember correctly.

- Legend of Dragoon is not  a series

- - Legend of Legaia, Musashi and Alundra I forgot about although I have never played them

- Koudelka is related to shadow hearts but I didn't even know about it.

Which games did you find strange?

List was for Console RPGs  which would preclude Planescape, Diablo, Ultima

- Romance of the 3 kingdoms is not an RPG AFAIK

- Super Mario RPG (I missed, check my response a few posts backs)

- Tactics Ogre I forgot (really strange considering my fav GBA game is tactics Ogre)

- Illusion of time/terranigma saga is this the saga series? I forgot to add it but I have been trying to forget it even exists since I bought Unlimited Saga for $3.99 too many.

- Wasn't aware that Lufia and bahamut lagoon were a series

- Not really familiar with the rest

Parasite Eve 2 is an RPG as well as the first was. It was set in a more Survival Horror theme than the first, but it has all the elements of RPG. That's like calling Vagrant Story not an RPG, since it uses similar mechanics

RotTK is an SRPG, that blends the mechanics of an RTS with your normal SRPG like shining force
Unlimited Saga only has the same developing team behind it, the concept is completely different. The Snes series was composed of Soul Blazer, Illusion of Time and Terranigma
Lufia is a saga, it's composed of Lufia, Lufia 2: Rise of the sinistrals and Lufia for the GBA. Bahamut Lagoon is the continuation of a first generation obscure SNES rpg game called Lagoon.
Parasite Eve is one of the best Squaresoft RPG series IMO, and it has a 3rd chapter coming to the PSP
Diablo is the mother of all MMORPG in existance since it pratically invented PVP, RPG online and many other features that you use in nowadays MMORPG
Ultima is the original WRPG series
Planescape falls in the same category as fallout and Baldur's Gate
Twisted Tales of Spike Mcfang and Secret of the Stars can be excluded as they are single games

I have only played Parasite Eve and had heard that 2 was drastically different as it was an adventure game at heart. Miscoception is now cleared.

You forgot quite a few:

• Soul Blazer/Illusion of Gaia(Time)/Terranigma was a series by Enix in the early 90s. All were losely connected thanks to their gameplay style, and featued super-secret bosses like Metal Mantis which was found as the uber-boss in IoG, who was the first boss from Soul Blazer.
• Lufia has 3 games out, debuted on the SNES from Atlus
• Ogre Battle series...Ogre Battle: MotBQ, Tactics Ogre, and Ogre Battle 64.

Those are a few actual series...rather than one-offs. If you wanted to include one-offs, then you'd need to throw in some of the dusty Enix IPs like Robotech for SNES.

Damn you took me way back with that game :D But yeah, there are a lot of one-offs that could be included if he's not talking only about sagas. Also just remembered about Legend of Oasis/Story of Thor for the Genesis, it's a two game saga

Why do people never include the Mario RPG/Paper Mario/Mario & Luigi series in these kinds of lists?!?

Those games are amazing, especially the original SMRPG and Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door... best RPG on the GC! (yeah, I said it!)

Then you can do an average of votes they received in "best of all time" over the votes they received in "have you played", it'll give you a better measure of which series is better

PE is one (if not) best RPG ever, it used the batttle system that was later implemented in vagrant story

PE 2 changed the formula alittle but it was more RPG than Fallout & Fable XD.
