Relationships ARE a form of procrastination. Absolute wastes of time and money. The amount of time I've wasted in my life being in "committed" relationships is unforgivable. He need to find a woman who will understand and support what he enjoys. Relationships without compromise dont last. I have been married for almost 10 years and my wife supports my gaming habit, but is not a gamer herself. She understands it one of the things I love.

I remember when we were dating she fell asleep on my bed while I was up playing an all night StarCraft Lan party. She just wanted to be with me, regardless of what I was doing. Now that is a real woman. You have to do the same when it comes to shitty dating movies, or dance lessons, or going to the ballet........compromise, just like she should.

Dump her and find someone who will compromise with what you enjoy, otherwise, it is not going to last regardless.

Unlike others in this thread I will give your brother some good advice. He needs to evaluate his behavior. Forgive me for saying this, but procrastinate sounds like a very specific well thought out point. Nobody just says procrastinate. The word means he has things that he is putting off that he should be doing. Which must mean she has specific instances in mind. This sounds like a one sided story, and I do not want to enable.

He probably needs to work on his prioritization. He needs to regiment his time. He needs to practice more moderation with the gaming. He probably needs to put down the controller for a few weeks. To prove his commitment, and if she is right he probably has a mountain of things that need to be accomplished.

See I am not assuming she is just being a bitch. I am actually assuming she cares about him and wants what is best for him and them. Eventually she will let him play games again if he proves he can do so in a responsible manner. However he needs to be responsible enough to make the right choice. Put the controller down and put her first. If he cannot do that it isn't a case of her being the wrong guy for her. It is a case of him being the wrong guy for her.

In other words he needs to get his fucking chores done, and not bitch about being without games for a month. Get in the habit of getting your shit done before you even turn on that console. I have read this bullshit before, and it is almost universally the guys fault. You usually get an ultimatum when you have broke the last straw.

The only question there is here is whether she is worth him cleaning up his act. If not he should just tell her. Frankly though a good relationship is worth more then any game. Had he been a responsible person all along this shit would not be happening to him. Now he has to work his way back into grace.

You know if he takes my advice eventually she will let him play games again. She probably is not as cruel as all that, and invariably they do let them play the games again. He just has to know what the priorities are. He should do what she tells him to do it is all for his own benefit.

Tell him to remind the wench that she is woman and is not to get above her station. He is to do as he pleases and she is to be obedient.
