He need to find a woman who will understand and support what he enjoys. Relationships without compromise dont last. I have been married for almost 10 years and my wife supports my gaming habit, but is not a gamer herself. She understands it one of the things I love.
I remember when we were dating she fell asleep on my bed while I was up playing an all night StarCraft Lan party. She just wanted to be with me, regardless of what I was doing. Now that is a real woman. You have to do the same when it comes to shitty dating movies, or dance lessons, or going to the ballet........compromise, just like she should.
Dump her and find someone who will compromise with what you enjoy, otherwise, it is not going to last regardless.
