Me and my dad just picked up a pair of these for our PCs:

LG 1080p monitors with a 2ms response time and 50,000:1 contrast ratio. They have VGA, DVI, and HDMI inputs for only $229 (you can also get one with a matter finish for $219). Excellent bang for your buck.

Granted, they have no speakers, but you could probably buy one of these for your PC and run your ps3 through that, thus using the PC speakers as speakers for your ps3.

If you have the money to invest in somethign larger scale, I'd definitely go with a Bravia like your brother or a Samsung HDTV.

lol, no way!

I was considering picking one of those up when I get some money, but I haven't seen that many reviews on it. There's one that looks similar on newegg, but it's a different model number so I'm a little unsure about it even though it has some good user reviews. I went to Best Buy to check it out on display and it looked nice, but it's difficult to really tell if I like it or not based soley on their crappy demo video reel.

I think I have sensitive eyes and I'm looking at this monitor for it's low response time and such to replace my monster 19" CRT and I don't want to strain my eyes and such. How is it? Also, can you run lower resolutions on an LCD monitor for your PC or do you have to run it on it's native resolution?

You can probably use this to connect the PS3 to PC speakers.

I was thinking of getting an HDCP monitor for PC/PS3 use and I've had my eye on this logitech adapter to hook the PS3 up through my PC speakers.

I'm really liking the monitor.  I've had very good luck with LG monitors over the past few years.  This one supports HDCP, the works, and I plan to get a Blu-Ray drive for my PC at one point, too.  My only complaint is the damn red light at the bottom.  First of all, my entire room is a mix of blue and gray, notably the lights on my PC case and whatnot.  This being red just doesn't fit, especially since red in my eyes means standby mode.  xD

And yes, it supports every resolution up to 1920x1080.    It does a surprisingly good job with lower resolutions, too.  I'm playing Left4Dead at 720p until I can upgrade my PC, and it doesn't look half bad.  My old monitor made things look much blurrier with a bit of pixelation when runnign lower resolutions.  This one scales nicely, however.

Btw, thanks for linking to those adapters.  Those were just what I was looking for a couple of years back when I was thinking of hooking up my ps3 to my old 1680x1050 monitor.  If I ever decide to do that with the new one, I'll now have some way to make it work.

Go with this one, if you look around enough, you may find a better deal. The Toshiba Regza is top of the line!

You pick whatever size you see fir, but Make sure its a 1080P screen and dont forget the home theater and an optical cable.

Then I urge you to try infamous its so awesome in surround system.

PLAYSTATION®3 is the future.....NOW.......B_E_L_I_E_V_E

Stick with Sony and Samsung for quality, Sharp and Toshiba for value. Any of the aforementioned are great brands.

I personally recommend a plasma HDTV, Panasonic and Pioneer are great that's just me...although if your still inclined to get an LCD, then spend big money to get something decent and comparable to the picture quality of the Panasonic and Pioneer Plasma sets....after all you buy a TV for it's image quality since you'll be seeing stuff on it...so with that in mind buy a good TV and it'll last you for the foreseeable future.

I hear that LG and Samsung make the best LCD's out there. I would try those out or look into those at least for your PS3. I'm using a Best Buy brand HDTV: Insignia and I'm actually loving this HDTV. Had it for about 2 years and its running strong and not aging at all. It runs up to 1080i but I have it on 720p.

Well personally I would go with sony, their tvs have a little chip inside them to make the picture as good as possible, and if you spend enough you can get one with all the bells and whistles which seriously kick arse!.

One tv thats caught my eye recently is the new Samsung/Sony OLED tvs they are so sexy, and the picture looks incredible! over here in the uk though they are about £2,999.99 so i wont be getting one anytime soon! the sony one is mega thin too. But yeah just go with one that you like the look of, but I would make sure that its at least 100hz and has 24p true cinema. Dynamic contrast is good too.

And im new here so HI! lol
