What do you think is the greatest achievement mankind has made?

It can be anything, from building the pyramids to landing on the moon. It can even be a great breakfast you made the other day if you like, but let's be realistic lol.

Anyway, personally I think the greatest achievement has been the Voyager missions of 1977.

The internet. Seriously. Talk to anyone in history and the invention of the internet or at least, global connectivity would be on every general's or kings or emperors list. The Roman empire might not have fallen if messages were sent faster. Outcomes of battles would have changed if the weather could have been checked in advance and the sway of the battle could have been viewed from satellite.

Go ask Julius Ceasar what he thinks of man walking on the moon. "And, what did you find? Rocks and higher jumping ability? Sheesh".

Then again, the Roman empire might have fallen over an addiction of LoLLions and /b/ orgies.

This is kind of unfair, since we could easily go back to humanity's beginnings and look at the fundamental things that made us great.

I'll go with farming. Seriously, it's allowed us to grow to numbers we never could have grown to otherwise.

Even if it wasn't boring, we wouldn't have survived without being able to make fire that was discovered before farming

Fire was here before us, and started before us. Systematically planting crops didn't exist until humanity started to do it. Now, crops did exist before us, but their spread, survival rate, and growing patterns were all entirely random.
