Forums - Sony - How the hell can they make MGS:R look better than MGS4?

It's easy to make a game look better than MGS4. That's the nice thing, from a developer's perspective, about generic photorealism as an art style: all you have to do to claim improvement is add a few more minutiae and insignificant details: the next couple of baby steps. The HD fans eat stuff like this up like candy; it's easy money.

Complexity is not depth. Machismo is not maturity. Obsession is not dedication. Tedium is not challenge. Support gaming: support the Wii.

What do I hate about modern gaming? I hate tedium replacing challenge, complexity replacing depth, and domination replacing entertainment. I hate the outsourcing of mechanics to physics textbooks, art direction to photocopiers, and story to cheap Hollywood screenwriters. I hate the confusion of obsession with dedication, style with substance, new with gimmicky, old with obsolete, new with evolutionary, and old with time-tested.
There is much to hate about modern gaming. That is why I support the Wii.

i wish i can tell how good or how bad games this gen look , alas they all look the same to me, cause of my SD t.v =[

MGS4 looked amazing. It was the long installs that took away from the experience but cmon it looked really good: (watch in HD)

I didn't win best graphics last year for no reason. I'm not saying MGS:R won't look good but it's a shame that that engine isn't being re-used. Some of those animations are spectacular.

Having larger storage space doesn't automatically mean that your going to have better graphics.

Xbone... the new "N" word   Apparently I troll MS now | Evidence | Evidence

It's possible it has been a while sing MGS 4 I'm sure they can squeez some damn good graphics out of a multiplat like assasins creed 2.

Disc space don't have anything o do with how advanced a game's graphics engine is.

Haven't you people ever downloaded a demo of a game from PSN? They're usually only 1-2GB in size but include the complete game engine and obviously look as good as the full game. That should make you easily realize that game engine is one thing, while game content is something completely different.

MSG4 had better graphics than uncharted. Uncharted only had prettier colors.

No Game looks as good as MSG4 in consoles. Is my opinion that both kilzzone2 and msg4 has on par graphics technically, only thing killzone 2 is better is no install.

Msg4 engine was amazing and there is no way a multiplatform game not made by the primary konami team, and being outsourced to new developer will have better graphics. Even being released 2/3 years after msg4.

Kojima was marketing the game when he said would look better.

( I do o think uncharted 2, god of war and alan wake can look better tho)

There is alot better looking games than mgs4, building a better game engine should be easy as they can just upgrade mgs4's anyway.

Or sorry, were you simply trying to troll? I apologise, and I agree. The 360 is evil and possibly a nazi sympathiser.

That doesn't make any sense. Microsoft is an American company, which were against the nazis. Sony is a Japanese company, Japan was allied with the nazis. Just saying...

Haven't played metal gear solid franchise anymore since the very first metal gear solid, but that game doesn't look no where near as epic as metal gear solid...
