Last night was my first time getting it, but last night was also my first time on this site while in the US, I'm also getting the full page ads where I have to click to skip them and get back to the site like you would on IGN. None of this stuff ever happened to me while I was in the bahamas...

Ok i found it. "Dgc1808" planted a malicious script in his signature. Every page you go in that he has posted in you get the popup. Nothing to do with ads but obviously a security flaw which has now been fixed.
