Forums - General - Your favorite Michael Bay film

The Rock and only because of Sean Connery.

Michael Bay is a horrible director. He blows up two thousand things in approximately five minutes for absolutely no reason while making a camera cut every two seconds. I'm convinced that he has ADD.

That's almost an oxymoron but if pushed i'd have to say The Rock.

Michael Bay... *shudder*

The Rock was cool though. Nicolas Cage & Sean Connery FTW!

I'm a big Bay fan. When it comes to action movies I like more explosions and less plot. The Rock is still my favorite Bay film (arguably the two best actors in any of his films).

Bad Boys 1! I based my real life persona on Will Smith's character. No lie.

I'm gonna say The Island.

Why must JRPG female leads suck so bad?

The rock is the only one of those movies that wasn't completely retarded.

I think his best film still has to be shot.

The Rock. In the main I just find his films 'average' with the exception of the odd nice moment of action.

I don't think he's the best action director by a long shot, though, as he often lets his action become muddled and he often struggles I feel to give each big action sequence a real feeling of progression or purpose.

But The Rock was pretty decent.

that would be James Cameron

Cameron and Speilberg are two of the greatest action directors IMHO.  They almost always ensure the action is integral to the narrative and flows well.  They also are masters of the geography of an action scene and on both thrilling with the action and keeping the character's central to what's going on.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

Pearl Harbor. Probably has the best love story of all time in a movie.
