I don't think he's the best action director by a long shot, though, as he often lets his action become muddled and he often struggles I feel to give each big action sequence a real feeling of progression or purpose.

But The Rock was pretty decent.

Cameron and Speilberg are two of the greatest action directors IMHO.  They almost always ensure the action is integral to the narrative and flows well.  They also are masters of the geography of an action scene and on both thrilling with the action and keeping the character's central to what's going on.

 



Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...
