TO GOD BE THE GLORY
I do hope it is true, though.
Ask stefl1504 for a sig, even if you don't need one.
I dont think it'll happen soon, it'll happen when the PS2 is closer to the end of its life.
I really hope so. Will ps2 games be upscalled from 480/576 i/p to 720/1080 p ?

to 720p possible. RSX + cell is capable of that.
but 1920x1080p 60fps for emulation it's really hard.

Yawn, this again...
In order to run PS2 games in hardware emulation BOTH the Emotion Engine and Graphics Synthesizer chips have to be emulated. Quick fact: The memory in the GS has too high a bandwidth for the PS3 to handle cycle for cycle.
Software emulation - using some sort of HLE is possible, but it will have to be tweeked on a GAME BY GAME basis. Those people waiting for true hardware emulation will be waiting for a long time (read eternity). HLE is nothing new - look at X-box to 360.
Move along...

It's too late for this to make all that much of a difference, but it would be nice to see Sony correct one of their worst mistakes.
