Forums - Nintendo - The Conduit - 140k debut, 1.13m lifetime prediction by SimExchange

SimExchange is kind of interesting 'cause I get the feeling that a lot of their users look at our numbers to help make their predictions, so that the SimExchange numbers end up looking close to our own.

140k? Wooow, good numbers! :)

@Edit: 140k at full price isn't 7m dolares? I think that this game is already giving profit.

the publisher only sees about 40% of retail, so it's closer to 3 million. I'm guessing that this game cost Sega a little shy of 8-9 million to publish and promote. Things look good, but there's a way to go yet.

I also agreed upon that number a few days ago.

The Conduit will make that money back within the span of a month. Every copy sold after August will be profit.

Leatherhat on July 6th, 2012 3pm. Vita sales:"3 mil for COD 2 mil for AC. Maybe more. "  thehusbo on July 6th, 2012 5pm. Vita sales:"5 mil for COD 2.2 mil for AC."

I can go and vote right away. That alone makes it not reliable at all

Well retail stores only make about 5 dollars per new game sold, say 50 cents per disc and 50 cents for packaging cause they buy in bulk and then some odd cents per game for shipping (also large quantities) you can round it up to 7 to 8 dollars taken away for retail costs. I'd say its safe to assume 40 dollars is split between Nintendo, HVS, and SEGA if I remember right fees for Nintendo are like 15% I might be wrong there, but I remember a % coming up as to the reason why Halo DS never made it past the first builds.

So 6 dollars to Nintendo and 34 dollars are split between HVS and SEGA in some odd %, it did not cost SEGA 8 to 9 million to publish and promote The Conduit I'd say HVS and SEGA combined have invested between 8 to 10 million, publishers taking more % from HVS depending on if SEGA gave them more money and time for development.

If my figures are right as of right now the money for all copies sold to customers is 4,760,000, they're probably already shipped out more copies to retailers so they've probably got at least 5 to 6 million from copies sold to retailers.

I'm thinking about 2million by the end of the holidays, this game could just go on as the best fps on wii till the next nintendo console comes out just like goldeneye on the n64 then every fps fan on wii is bound to play or hear of it and after that I'd bet about 85% of those people will buy it and 65-75% of them will buy it new, 007 on the n64 sold about 8million and only about 32million n64's were owned but on the other hand the ps3/360 probably do have much better fps games then the conduit and the original ps1/sega saturn didn't have any fps even close to being on the same level as 007 for years untill medal of honor came out and I'd say even then 007 was better with the 4players free for all mode.......... nobody can really have the most accurate honest prediction because this is the first real hardcore fan fps game on wii and it is beyond cod5 WAY beyound cod5 and last I checked that sold 1.9million and it's a ps2port only 8players NO VOICE chat although it came out after the wii speak did + the controls suck and the ps3/360 versions were so much better I wish I never would have bought cod5 cause when I played it on 360 days after I bought it on wii I felt so ripped of and so pist because cod5 is like a 9.3 out of 10 game on 360 and on wii its like a 7.0 game on wii and to me so far I'd give the conduit a 8.5 out of 10 cause it is great but it could of been so much better..........

Well in general a Wii title sells around 10% of it's lifetime sales in it's first week if it sells over 1 million copies. So it's looking likely to sell over 1 Million copies in America alone which is a good sign for worldwide lifetime sales.

Retail stores make way more than $5 per full-price copy. Otherwise how could Amazon afford to knock $10 off a brand new release? Not to mention similar promotions from retailers that have to pay brick and mortar costs.

Most estimates put the retail take upward of 30% of the sticker price, with the remainder divided between licensing, manufacturing, and distribution.

I'd just like to let everyone know that the conduit is a game every wii owner should have, all the reviews on this game were way off and complete BS in the back of the art gallery book are the thanks you get from the highvoltage staff

"from the day we revealed the conduit for the first time, the fans have had a trully amazing impact on the development of the game, instead of making something we thought you'd like, we want and asked you what you actually wanted. That process generated a phenomenal amount of feedback that led to a better game then we could have made on our own.

Your excitement and encouragement have driven us each day. Providing us with motivation to finish strong despite a tough development schedule............. it goes on into my pro-code but I'm just trying to let everyone know it is the best fps on wii and I take there word for what they say on just the fact that the WII SPEAK is going to be discontinued but voice chat was thrown in the game anyway and the conduit is better the cod5 on wii ANY WAY you look at it all the way around.........

I'm quoting the higher ups I work with, they may be lying and probably are, but that's my only figure I have to go on from any "credible" source other then assuming.
