haha sure. Base your facts on metacritic. FIFA is fail....last one i got was FIFA96, same time when i bought ISS (the original and first one). Though from time to time i played later FIFA games and FIFA09 too...they copy PES each year more and more.

Actually...PES and PES 2 are the two best football games ever made, both with 93 metacritic score, next come PES 3 and 5 with 92, PES 4 with 91 and PES 6 with 89.

So yeah....IF fifa 09 is the best game ever made, with just 87, then what about 6 games with higher metacritic score? OMG, they are the best football games in the universe by that standart, since they are so great they transcend time!.

Just to clarify, I hate using Metacritic as a measure of how good a game is, I just hate it even more when people pull those score out of nowhere and don't even care to properly research, because they are afraid that their own expectations will be destroyed by the harsh reality.

PES has been the better series for a long time, and even with all the innovations, FIFA has a lot to catch up to.

I'm sorry I just can't understand the die hard love for PES. It truly is beyond me how anyone finds the last two iterations better than fifa08 and 09 on the consoles (PC versions still suck ass)

The same goes for the PES fans that don't seem to find FIFA any better than PES. Different play styles and different expectations of a football game. I can't get into FIFA because of the more arcady feel, the only mode that I really liked in the last two FIFA's was Be a Pro, because it was really well done, and made you feel like you were actually a player. In that aspect, the similar mode in PES 09 felt a bit akward and didn't quite fit with the whole feel of the game.

Good point and I am inlined to agree with you it really seems to be down to a personal preference rather than one being significantly better than the other (although i will admit PES had much better gameplay in the earlys). Regardless I think its time for konami to build an entirely new engine otherwise its gonna get left behind eventually. I still don't think they are using any of the new features of the HD consoles other than a resolution jump.

By the way will konami have enough money/resources for a new engine?
