While RolStoppable has a point, I think celebrations are in order not for financial reasons. But hitting 500 as a New IP with little marketing is very impressive. If it wasn't for VGChartz I would have walked by this title several times. I still have not purchased it myself, but at least I notice it. This is more of a victory to share between fans of the game than a victory that they pulled a profit out of the game.

Why must JRPG female leads suck so bad?

@Rol: - i think its (at least a small) a success, because it was much lower predicted at the beginning, and just a few one believed in half a million in sales... if any.

of course it could be better, but 500k is not bad at all.

I'm a Foreigner, and as such, i am grateful for everyone pointing out any mistakes in my english posted above - only this way i'll be able to improve. thank you!

I don't know how you guys can be happy about this, it's just half a million in sales. That's hardly a success, if at all.

I don't consider success based on prodcution values. If a game cost $10 to make, and two people bought it for $50 each, the game is technically a success from your perspective. I consider success based on how many people are buying the game. What if Halo was the cheapest game ever made? If only a couple people bought it, would you consider it a success, even if it made Bungie a profit?

While you are right, I think there is still cause for slight celebration, since it's a great game which has been stuck with dire sales predictions for quite some time. That it managed 500k after such a long time on the market, with very little marketing means that the internet should give it self a pat on the back for helping out

im still yet to buy it :) its on my to get list and its next in line

Im on it right now, it's pretty good, but theres lots of flaws/annoyances
IMO. I think a 2nd one with some revised rules and new features would be good enough for a full price purchase. At 500k it may be a reality.........and this time SEGA it may be worth your money to go multiplat.

Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.

Nintendo Treehouse is what happens when a publisher is confident and proud of its games and doesn't need to show CGI lies for five minutes.

I still remember when I started playing it back in March, the smile it brought upon my face, I knew after the opening sequences I was in for a great experience. A whole month later and 40 hours of gameplay I still wanted more. Sadly the DLC, although great fun, doesn't pack much character development or expands the main story. I want part 2!!!

My idea for the next Valkyria title is centered in a distant future after the events of Chronicles, different war affair, different regions and of course a whole new cast of characters. And this time they should include AIR AND SEA COMBAT! That would be BIG!

1- Two of people =/= 500K

2- If it makes a good profit its a success

3- Its the best selling SRPG this gen, so ur saying they all fail?

4- Nonaka Ryutaro, the game's producer, said he was pleased with Japan's reception of the game, and intersted in a sequal (it sold around 170K at that time)

5- Stop comparing any game to HALO
