Forums - Nintendo - New Monster Hunter 3 promotional video (7/3)

So I was trying to figure out, do monster hunter games have a story mode? Seems alot like an MMO where you'll take on quests and such, but is there a decent story along with it as well?

im starting to see just why japan loves this game so much

Every time I see something about this like scans or gameplay videos I get more and more hyped about it - I want to keep my expectation low though so I don't get disappointed, I will have fun playing it I know so that's all that really matters.

Currently dreaming of: DKC4 or Sonic the Hedgehog 4 (classic 2D platformers) for WiiWare, Smash Bros. for DSi, New Super Mario World for DSi, a Wii remake or true sequel of Final Fantasy Tactics.

One down, hopefully more awesomeness to come.

From what I understand, the answer is "nyet," although I admit I'm not an expert on the series.

I think there are quests in the game.

Look what happens when a major third party puts a Tier 1 team on Wii. I just hope this isn't pay to play in the US. I think that would dampen the response quite a bit. Especially if it is a monthly fee. People just aren't used to that on consoles...

^ This is you!

Why would it be pay 2 play? That's only in Japan.

Have they confirmed that?  From what I have heard it may be in the U.S. too this time...

They want this game to succeed in the U.S. Using a p2p system wouldn't be very smart... Monster hunter is popular in Japan, but not in the U.S.
