Hopefully future Alan Wake games will be Microsoft exclusives.

Sandbox is brilliant, if made right
But even in a good game it can become boring fast (Far Cry 2)

So they've decided to go the easy path and I think that was a good idea.

Somebody else actually found Far Cry 2 boring, wow I thought I was alone. Good game, sure, it just didn't keep my interest for very long and I think it being open world may have hurt it rather than help it.

Exactly, though I saw quite some posts from users that don't like FC2 very much.

Too bad Alan Wake is not a sandbox game any more. It's always brave and honorable to try to make an open world, especially for a story driven game, but a lot easier to just choose the regular route and make a game linear.

I believe it will still be an amazing game though. A contender for GOTY 2010.

I never even knew this was going to be a sandbox game! Either way I'm happy with it, can't wait to play it!

The part about Remedy still owning the content rights of Alan Wake despite Microsoft publishing it is interesting. I am a little saddened about the PC version though, I was hoping this one to be one of the first games I get on my newly built PC, whenever I get around to building it that is.

really interesting, they can port it if they find another published.

wait why  the pc version it's delayed?! WTF

it's the lead platform.

No, this game will not be ported because Microsoft have an agreement about the first game but Remedy can make a sequel or "Alan Wake Origins" and put it on PS3.

- Maybe most shocking news was that PC version of Alan Wake isn't any more obvious truth. Last time Remedy did demo PC version of Alan Wake was back 2005 and latest demos and videos are from Xbox 360 version of game.

That's for the people who said it looked great, but Xbox360 version will look worse. That was October 2008.

And a story-driven game is great. I really want to be in this story. The story is the main motivation to finish games.

I noticed that too. It looks like nobody else cares though, just us.

What do you mean?

360 has always been the lead platform.

Now that these happenings have surfaced about the pc version, why are people still insisting pc is the lead platform for alan wake?

Obviously it isn't.

I never had any expectations of this being a sandbox game...why would I want that? This is an interactive movie, imho, and sandbox doesn't work for that format. It's interesting to see that this game will be an xbox exclusive at launch.
