As a fan of the series it scare me just to think about it.

so tell me yes or no if you put yes give the reason you think it will die.

Yes, all good things come to a end eventually. Let's just hope they have the common sense to allow the series to go out with a good ending rather than have it die kicking, screaming and sobbing in a corner somewhere.

I'm hoping that Final Fantasy dies gracefully in the future so that we can all have good memories of the time we spent with it.

When they hit 20 SquareEnix will self-destruct.

On topic: the series can go on forever. Each game is a reÏncarnation of the previous one. Heroes saving the world/country. It's one of the oldest storyarcs ever. People want to hear them and play like the hero.



In the wilderness we go alone with our new knowledge and strength.

I agree with this post. Let them have to common sense to end it on a good note. If FF13 turns out good they should end the series

It'll probably end if they continue using the numbers. Final Fantasy XXXVII would look just horrible, and no one would buy it. Final Fantasy XXX, lulz

I disagree, As a fan of the series if FF XIII turns out good I want more I don't want it to end. I love playing FF and other great series out there  the rest of my life.

As long as there is talent in there it won't stop from being a great game. The only reason I can see the series end is when SE suddenly goes out of business taking FF down with them.

Seeing has how FF14 is coming out in 2010 and will last as long or longer than FFXI (which is now 7 years old and still going strong), its unlikely to die in the next 10 years, at least.

A series die when it there is no more wind to push it forward... the FF series reivents it's world with every itteration, there are no sequels (until recently), so if Square did a game called Bloopers RPG instead of an FF but with the same high production values... they might as well have called it FF.
You could consider FF to be a type of games: High quality RPG from Square # XIII ... cause that is all they really are. Sure there are common principles in the stories, but other RPGs come close in story to FF too.

Same goes for the Tales series... they can do as many as they want, as long as they keep the production values high.
