The story is total bullshit. And I say that as a Christian.

What, you are Christian? I thought you were a liberal.

So only conservatives are allowed to be Christian? when did this happen?

Slimebeast only sees in two colors: blue and red.

He's from Sweden... unless you weren't referring to Republicans and democrats. I think he was joking.

OT: No I don't believe it happened.

There are many people that call themselves Christians who necessarily aren't. Like half of Sweden calls themselves 'Christian' because it's officialy and historically a "Christian"nation, but that doesn't mean that they're actual believers or are practicing the Christian religion.

As far as ive seen akuma58 in the debates on VGC he dont appear like a Christian at all to me. Im just saying what my impressions are. If im rong he will correct me.

Being a Christian doesn't require you to be a fundamentalist who thinks that pi is 3.00 because the Bible says so.  And yes, I have seen Christians make that exact argument based on biblical text, and that the world is flat because Jesus could see the four corners of the earth. It makes me ashamed that Christianity perpetuates willful ignorance.

And what have you seen that would make me seem like I am not a Christian?  Because I don't support a Christian military state?  Because I think that separation of church, state, and science is actually A GOOD THING for Christianity?  Or because I am liberal I am a less authentic Christian?  I hate to break it to you, but you know very little about me.

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Thompson

Those who think it's impossible clearly haven't done the science behind it.  Which is actually quite ironic.

Why dont you tell us about your science experiment, Kasz?

It's not about me personally doing expierments.  It's about me knowing about biology and the basic history of the thing.

For example.

Fair enuff. I just got the impression of u as a very liberal person, so it suprised me u are x-ian.
(although u didnt have to take the extreme examples like pi is 3.00 and stuff, it only strikes me as cheap rethorics).

Wow.

So this article states, that one sailor was stuck between the teeth and was rescued shortly after that.

The other story is about a guy, who survived for one day got away with acid burned skin and then the last paragraph states, that this is often taken as an early urban legend.

So that's what you call knowing about biology and the basic history of the thing? I'm now fairly impressed.

I wonder why people are even guessing about if a person could survive in a fish. The whole Jonah story is explicitly miraculous, so why people are suddenly questioning the physicality of one element is beyond me. Why aren't people asking if throwing a sinful man overboard to stop a storm is scientifically sound?

No those are examples... but if you'd actually read the rest of the article you'd see that it is possible.

Do unicorns exist? That has to be even harder to believe than a man living in a whale for three days.

Job 39:9

Will the unicorn be willing to serve thee, or abide by thy crib? Canst thou bind the unicorn with his band in the furrow?

Job 39:9

I remember doing a little research on this subject. The appearance of a unicorn in the King James Version is the result of the mistranslation of the Jewish word re'em. For everyone's benefit, I found a website that expounds on this issue.

In regards to Jonah, I think it also was a mistranslation as famousringo stated. With the numerous transliterations and translations of the Biblical texts, that would be the likely explanation. Nevertheless, I do believe God can miraculously intervene in people's lives.
