Bull. The game's not on the Wii because they started it so many years ago so they weren't going to cancel it for the sake of the Wii.

And it's also possible that the series is highly cinematic, and that Square put it on the PS3 due to its graphical capabilities. The breakout title for the franchise was Final Fantasy 7, which was the first FF game in 3D and the first one with real cutscenes. They don't need the strongest system for the game, but they definitely wanted to have a big step up in quality. After pushing all they could out of the PS2, the Wii isn't as big of a step up as either of the HD consoles.

Final Fantasy is a mainstream franchise, and a company as big as Square-Enix won't want to make their largest franchise exclusive. Try thinking about it.

why? what if nintendo had the best graphics/controls, millions sold, and microsoft was just trying to cater to the casuals (a demographic that nintendo already has a firm grip on), and as a result, has incredibly low sales? yea im sure square would stick with microsoft at that point.

Casuals have no brand loyalty. it could around next gen sony got the casual appeal or microsoft does with natal.

The only reason those (exclusive Final Fantasy's) use the name Final Fantasy is for better sales. They are a lot different then Final Fantasy's and do not need that part in the name.

I know its a big cult hit. I was talking about a big rival to FF. How much sales did Earthbound/Mother push in Japan and the world? I believe Mother 3 wasn't even released outside Japan or much much later.

they always seem to want their main series to look as best as it possibly can...and that just cant happen on the wii.

Once Nintendo makes the leap to HD, it will get a FF. They gave the 360 FF XI once it launched. They might do that with NeWii and FF XIV.
