I consider the yoshi upgrades the equivalent to new suits... Also, just because there aren't new suits persay doesn't mean Mario doesn't have some new skills. Take that drill for instance... It seems to function as a suit that you'll probably lose when you get hit... or something of the like... Hell it is even featured in a boss battle... I can imagine other upgrades like that exist within the game.

@silentmac ... I understand how you feel about the DLC... but it seems there are 120 more stars to collect (maybe an artificial 242 if they include luigi again). and the initial 120 stars will take any gamer somewhere in the order of 10 - 20 hours to collect... at minimum... (assuming 5 - 10 minutes per star) I don't know a whole lot of DLC that adds another ~15 hours of replay value... unless its multiplayer based.

I'll be happy if they make the fire flower so that it lasts until you get hit.

No new suits? That's a little sad. I wish they would give me the Raccoon suit... I miss it. OH well, I do get a Yoshi, and God knows that I enjoy a good Yoshi ride. I was Yoshi crazy in 1992.

i would like to play SMG2 considering SMG was my favourite game of all time, however i am getting concerned at the lack of non-mario games. Mario is great and all, but i want to see a fox/donkey kong/f-zero game!

I don't see the problem. Yoshi is worth a handful of new suits. Nothing too bad.

I get really sick of Nintendo whoring out the big guy so much.  I think they should use him just like Link and only have 1 or 2 quality outings per console generation and and brand other stuff with different characters sometimes.   Realistically, the Mario Sports games could have been made into Mii control games this gen.  And really, the only games I think that I are must owns for me with Mario in the title are Super Paper Mario, Mario Galaxy, and now Galaxy 2 and NSMB.

Galaxy was really short even when beating the 120 stars so they could have just put all the content in Mario Galaxy 2 in the first one or done like any other game developer would have and just made it an expansion pack.  

I'm sure I will get flamed for this but keep in mind this is just my opinion (and you can look at my game collection to see I am no Wii hater), but like others have said, I would just prefer that Mario stick to 1 or 2 quality outings per console generation and Nintendo could actually focus on some of their other great franchises like Star Fox, Kirby, F-Zero, Kid Icarus, Donkey Kong, Pikmin, a stand-alone Yoshi game, 2-D reimaginings for Wiiware, or ***Gasp*** make a something new....

And yes, I am aware Nintendo has made a few other good franchise games this gen, like MP3, Smash, Brawl, and Metroid Other M but they could have already done so much more without so much Mario!

Exactly dude, (i forgot about a stand-alone Yoshi game.It would be epic!)
