I consider the yoshi upgrades the equivalent to new suits... Also, just because there aren't new suits persay doesn't mean Mario doesn't have some new skills. Take that drill for instance... It seems to function as a suit that you'll probably lose when you get hit... or something of the like... Hell it is even featured in a boss battle... I can imagine other upgrades like that exist within the game.
@silentmac ... I understand how you feel about the DLC... but it seems there are 120 more stars to collect (maybe an artificial 242 if they include luigi again). and the initial 120 stars will take any gamer somewhere in the order of 10 - 20 hours to collect... at minimum... (assuming 5 - 10 minutes per star) I don't know a whole lot of DLC that adds another ~15 hours of replay value... unless its multiplayer based.
