assuming PS3 sales stay the same (which wont), this might actually be plausible

Is this thread even serious? I didn't think anyone stil actually believed in the whole Sony wont finished last. After E3 this year. The coffin has been nailed. Sony was all but set to finish last, and now they absolutely will. No way back from 8 million sales down when the competition is drawing all the attention after E3.

I don't think the PS3 will have as big as a comeback as you are making it out to be.

Sony will probably drop the existing 80GB to $300 and bring in the slim for $400.
If they could get the slim down to $299 that would be impressive, however they have a lot of existing stock to get rid of. They are well under target and you just know that those warehouses are stacked to the roof.

Hopefully it makes a big impact and gives Nintendo and Microsoft some competition.

Well it's not impossible to comeback from 8 million, it's just Sony hasnt shown me it is capable of doing everything possible to achieve this comeback. They act as if they are the leaders instead of the underdog. Once they learn to compete, i will see this hapening.

But what if MS releases the Xbox3 one year ahead of PS4? Then PS3 will have one year extra to catch up the X360 sales and technically PS3 will come 2nd and the X360 third this gen.

SONY is to videogames what GM is to automobiles. They both think the market buys whatever they tell us we want and act as if the competition doesn't exist.
