Look at all you Wannabe ROF hypers....GOD!

It's just a figure of speech. I grew up on Final Fantasy. Played the very first game from start to finish years and years ago. I followed the series through Snes and onto PS1. The series IMO and alot of people has had some great some good and some average games. The only true great FF's which get 10/10 are FF6, FF2 and FF7. Couple get 9's the rest fall between 5's and 8's.

FF8 & 9 would get 9 from me. FF1, 4 and 10 would get 7 from me.

FF3 & 5 would get 6

And FF12 and 11 would score a 5/10 from me. Thats my opinion, and I have always had that opinion of all of them. Even when 3 and 5 first came out they were average to me.

But your argument is that the name FF would've given SO4 and IU reviews in the 90's, but I think there are many non name related reasons that those two games ended up with the reviews they did.

u no i actually thought SO4 was pretty good too. That is until i played TOV and LO and quickly realized how half assed the game was

IU wouldn't have done any better critically if it was named something that actually made in sense at all. And I will say that not everyone shares your opinion on FFX and FFXII. I found them to be great game in the series and some of the best RPGs ever. Just because you didn't like the direction of the series or whatever does not make it bad. I don't like certain games, but that does not make them bad games.

People hate on IU and SO4 because they were average at best JRPGs that were hyped to be something to look forward to. They are horribly made games and tri-ace hasn't done another great job since Star Ocean 2. They really leave much to be desired in their games. I thought IU was a better game than SO4 though.

Looks badass. I think everyone should at least give Tri-Ace one more chance. Since End of Eternity is being published by Saga the voice acting and script should be very soild this time around. Also the gameplay looks very cool and you all know that Tri-Ace makes some great battle systems. All it need now is a decent story and we are set. Will End of Eternity be better then Tales of Vesperia and Valkyria Chronicles? I doubt it. Will it be a great jprg nevertheless? I think so.

it looks like Star Ocean 4, i think SO4 looks better, don't know.
though the Character Design is alot better here, on SO4 they look like dolls with wigs.

Of course I'm going to play it and give it a chance, but just rather set lower expectations for it.

Gameplay has never been a problem for tri-ace. IU and Star Ocean 4 both had some great and fun battles, but it was the extra stuff that got ignored. I can respect Final Fantasy and Megaten because all their main games all that extra level of polish that you don't see from any other RPG.

FF for the most part brings very polished games. But FF12 was......was.....i can't say it. I don't want to get banned.

It was polished. You must admit that. The voice acting was the best on PS2. The localization was excellent and there never were any framerate issues. There were no large loading sequences and little to no camera control issues.

You can be upset about the meat of the game (gameplay, music, story, etc.) but I'm not sure you can deny the polish.
