That's easy. Pokemon red, blue, and yellow. There is no way that any pokemon game was ever going to capture the greatness of the original. This is easily seen when you look at the sales comparisons. ONE of the greatest games ever made
Thank you Kowenicki

Oh, so many.
-Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. That was an amazing game. And then there was Warrior Within, and... not so much.
-Crash Bandicoot 3. The series was at its peak, it was being developed by Naughty Dog, and then it was completely murdered.
-Sonic and Knuckles. They should have let the series end on a high. But no, they had to cut all of its limbs off, stab it repeatedly, set it on fire and plunge it in a pool of acid, but NOT ALLOW IT TO DIE.
-Resistance Fall of Man *ducks*. Not because Resistance 2 was awful, but because Ratchet >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Resistance, and they should really be focusing on that
-And a prediction for the future: Lost Planet 2. Oh come on, Lost Planet was hardly that brilliant. We have enough shooters, thank you very much.

Wait for the game to come out first. Everything I've read about it makes it seem better than the first one. And the sequel will not hurt the image of the first one if it doesn't live up to the legend. Look at Super Maio World and Yoshi's Island. SMW is still near the top of the list for 2D platformers. |
at first i as like yep but then i realized how great this new standard was for platforming, and even gaming perspectives and control mechanics generally, so i say NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.
Shit, if any game deserved it (and im talking the innovative control and perspective changes specificially) it is this game. I want more surrealist inspiration too, more Dali, more Escher, cmon Miyamoto give me acid on screen please.
“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.
DMC3, DMC4 could have been so much better. DMC5 better be good.

I've never played PoP: Sands of time, however I did play Warrior Within, and it wasn't that bad, although I did see an awful lot of glitches in the game mechanics.
