Super Mario Galaxy. At the risk of getting a tomahawk thrown at me, I think the game was too significant, magical, and iconic to be followed up with a sequel. I would rather have seen a whole new Mario game, set in a new location and with completely different things to do.

Wait for the game to come out first. Everything I've read about it makes it seem better than the first one. And the sequel will not hurt the image of the first one if it doesn't live up to the legend. Look at Super Maio World and Yoshi's Island. SMW is still near the top of the list for 2D platformers.

at first i as like yep but then i realized how great this new standard was for platforming, and even gaming perspectives and control mechanics generally, so i say NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.

Shit, if any game deserved it (and im talking the innovative control and perspective changes specificially) it is this game. I want more surrealist inspiration too, more Dali, more Escher, cmon Miyamoto give me acid on screen please.

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.
