| slowmo said: I realise you've stated your thoughts on why you regard your limits as being fine but by ignoring older exclusives you're throwing away far more valuable data making this pointless imo. When looking at sales of exclusives it's not only short term sales that are important but loing term trends too, for example the spikes in sales that Crackdown, Mass Effect and Halo 3 are all going to be getting over the coming 6 months as their sequels (or expansion in ODST's case) are released. Not only that but not including downloadable titles is silly as its a big money earner for all 3 companies right now due to minimal advertising and publishing costs required. In all honesty you've picked such a skewed set of data to blur the full picture of sales exclusives and sadly it does just look like desperate cherry picked data to make the PS3 look better, which according to you isn't the true picture you were looking for. I'll quietly leave your thread now as I've said my piece and I don't agree with your metrics and don't need it to go further off topic. On a positive note, your presentation was at least good. |
This post is intended to show the performance of exclusive software titles shipped during the same general timeframe that are of the same general quality. It is not an end all be all list. Many people on this site seem to believe that PS3 exclusives don't sell very well, but the data tells a different story. I think it is a common practice to analyze sales data by time periods, particularly if you can filter out launch data.
Thanks for the input, Jeff.
