So wait....generic is a good thing now?

Haze is AAA confirmed

That's unpolished. Generic can still be polished and good at what it does.

I'm glad you said that. The next time a high profile FPS comes out, it better not get chewed out for "not bringing anything new to the table"

I thought that was dumb for any game of any genre. I can understand sequels that come across as rehashed, but acting as though bringing something new is mandatory is just BS. Plus if a game does bring something new, that's still not good enough for such reviewers if it's not the kind of new thing they wanted.

Precisely how I feel. Some random developer could make an exact rip of CoD4 and call it "Signal of Service: Current and Up-to-Date Battle". As long as it's fun, I don't care if it's "generic"

And LOL at that name HAHAHA

Around the Network

Well, it isn't generic for everyone... I haven't played a fps since enemy territory and quake 3 arena. I like old school games, so I really like the conduit.

Wow... we actually agree. Okay.

Also, Twilight Princess. It didn't do anything radical over Ocarina the way Majora and Wind Waker did, but I didn't freakin' mind, because I had fun.

And all the complaining if an RPG on the Wii seems generic. In case they all didn't notice, the Gamecube and N64 didn't even get that, so it shows the Wii is getting more support.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs

There aren't many games out there that don't use generic elements. Every game borrows from those that proceed it, and (hopefully) add something new also. I hate the direction these Wii reviews have gone. Luckily the sales have shown that Wii reviews mean little. The hardcore Wii gamers know the good games, and the casual gamers wouldn't look at the reviews regardless of their accuracy, hence this is a moot issue.

Hardware is only a means to enjoy great games!
