Forums - Sales - Famitsu first day sales

I give credit where it is due. Atelier's sales are nothing to write home about either, but reaching for excuses to try and defend the weak sales of stuff like ARF on the Wii is funny.

No one is saying ARF sales were good. They are not. Marvelous sid they were not good, they said they made a mistake in not promoting their titles. Atelier sales though are what should have been expected from a gust game. This is how gust games tend to sell.

Wii Sports 1 & Wii Play did 176k week one in Japan by Famitsu so this is a good opening.

Wii Music did 50k day one.

Wii Fit did ~260k week one

Galaxy did ~130k day one.

Ok.  So i am crazy then.  Saw 155 and was like... "That's all."

Thanks for pointing out the sales are actually quite amazing.

now who can predict the Wii boost?! i predict PS3 abt 11-12k, but wii is hard to predict. It got a 3k boost the week before WSR

The SDF is out tonight.

Rorona bombed. Sony fanboys can claw at ARF and point fingers at their imaginary Wii army all they want, it doesn't change that Atelier is selling worse with each game.

And no, it hasn't been "niche" for a few years now.

it looks like WSR won't be as big, but it got decent sales.

generally 60$ of the sales come from first day for the week.  i wonder if nintendo will be able to keep it evergreen.

WSR may cause only a small bump... it selling to already owners of wii sport, and not expanding userbase.

wow, most games are for sony consoles.

It's actually selling faster than the last ones for the PS2.

But hey! The question is why they keep making those Atelier games when according to some ramdom guy on the internet they aren't making money with them.

If that is true ClaudeLv250 is really making an ass of himself.

Anyway I thought the Source said the pre-orders of the new PS3 games were less than 5.000k so the blazblue numbers are really impressive.

Daz, this is just to give the reference between the two titles to realize more how crazy that claim is.

I mean the resolution is obviously higher on Rorona, but Arc Rise has more detailed everything else.

So the Arc Rise would be the top one then?  (Yes I don't even know which game is which.  Should make me a good judge, no?)

outlaw, I hope the you understand "5 times more" is of course irrealist and just an exaggeration of something (I don't have much doubt it costed mor, of course not 5 times)... the same way saying that Atelier Rorona sold well and Arc Rise sold bad is an exaggeration and irrealist ;)

Well, if Arc Rise didn't sell badly, then Atelier will is going to have a better first week is selling well, no? I don't think it works quite like that, but Atelier is a niche like Muramasa and Fragile. Arc Rise Fantasia isn't a niche title, it's a standard turn based RPG.

Standard turnbased RPGS are niche titles Outlawauron.

Ones not named Dragon Quest or Final Fantasy anyway.... take a close look at Japanese sales on the PS2.

RPGs in general = Niche unless they have big brandname backing... even small brandname backing doesn't do it.
