Forums - Website Topics - Who was disappointed by the Vitality Sensor?

I don't get it.  Maybe I'm not thinking of the same kind of disappointment.  To me the question was about hopes unfulfilled, dreams deferred, underperformance.

Were over TWO THOUSAND of you seriously looking forward that much to the Wii Vitality Sensor, only to be bitterly disappointed by the reality of what was seen at E3?

I would like to hear from the people who voted the Wii Vitality Sensor the "biggest disappointment of E309".

My advice to fanboys: Brag about stuff that's true, not about stuff that's false. Predict stuff that's likely, not stuff that's unlikely. You will be happier, and we will be happier.

On a more serious note though, I do admit to being a bit "disappointed" in it (albeit in a different sense of the word). I wish Nintendo had taken the time to show some software to go with it. As it is, it's not even at the low level of a tech demo...Although I suppose developers can't say they were blindsided this time. Hmm...

^ Sounds like a hope unfulfilled to me! (Unless you went in with no anticipation.)

Its not disappointed in the specific product, vitality sensor, but in Nintendo in general. If the device was accompanied by a well thought out game and shown in a demo mode, it would not be a disappointment.

OR if they would not have shown it at all and instead focused on games then the disappointment would exist either.

That, I believe, is the basis anyone picked any of the items on the poll. Not the specific item, but the company in the way it was presented or maybe should have spent time on something else. Basically, its more of a reflection on the company, not the product.

I understand exactly what you mean Final-Fan, i thought the same thing when i looked at the survey. How can you be disappointed in something that you aren't even expecting? The demonstration was clearly meant as a teaser just to let the shareholders know that Nintendo isn't sitting still and is always looking at new technologies and their potential to impact on the game experience.

I wasn't since it got me wondering about how to use it in a game, and where nintendo may be going with its next console

So you're saying that Nintendo can have the most epic show in years, showing off Wii Sports Resort for the masses (sequel to the most-sold game ever), along with Zelda, Metroid, and UNPRECEDENTED amounts of Mario, and the mere existence of a peripheral a gamer doesn't care about can invalidate all that?

I hate people.

I guess I didn't explain it well.

I am not disappointed in Nintendo's show for all the wonderful reasons you mentioned. However, I am disappointed that :

A) Vitality Sensor didn't have actual use demos, akin to Wii Sports when Wiimote was shown or Wii Fit when balance board was shown.

B) Some other amazing game(s) were not shown instead of this sneak peak at the sensor.

........... i just don't understand.....are they trying to sell wii's to retirement homes now...
