Not understanding what you're having difficulties with:

1) Go to any game page

2) Click the 'Cheats' tab

3) Click 'Add cheat'

4) Select either Walkthrough or In-Depth guide from the drop-down

5) Enter a description

6) "Paste document into text area or select a file for upload" <- I assume this is the complication? Basically, you can either enter your guide in the rich-text box or upload a .txt file (ala Gamefaqs) directly to the site.

Uh... it never occured to me to consider a walkthrough or an In-depth FAQ to be a cheat. 

I was thinking those would be in the FAQs section.

Edit:  I just tried and got the error:

An error has occurred...
Undefined variable: ownerid

I don't remember seeing those entries in that thread so I tried to use the system based on how I would expect it to work and how just about every other gaming website works.

None of these 3 websites places walkthroughs in the cheats section.  None of them. 

Gamefaqs and 1up put their walkthroughs and guides in the "FAQs" section and IGN has clearly marked "Game Guides" and "Walkthroughs" sections.

What is vgChartz gaining by doing things differently than the industry leaders in this case?

PS:  Is the error fixed yet?
