the dragon quest series is easily the best, there is no game in the main series that can be considered bad or average, the series also doesnt try to release as much games as posible and always takes its time to make a game perfect and fresh while feeling familiar, this is hwy the series keeps so consistent in quality throughout the years. all the other series can be brought down with this arguments of consistency, no other series lacks a bad main game, except maybe chrono, but that has chrono trigger that is average and chrono cross thats is excellent.
