Forums - Gaming - What franchises do you think will still be alive in the next 10 years

I know this is alot to ask but what franchise(s) do you think will have what it takes to hold out for another decade.

mario
zelda
pokemon
kriby
any nintendo franchise
gta
final fantasy

Other then yearly ones (sports etc). Easily updatable ones like Final Fantasy, Mario, Tekken, GT etc.

And then Halo...it'll be another prequal or something FPS that's milking the franchise for all it's worth. Sadly.

Hmm, pie.

There are too many to name really but a few of the new franchises created this gen I expect to see around in 10 years (or at least on the next set of consoles) are:

Little Big Planet

Assains Creed

Uncharted (hopefully)

Actually that's about all I expect to see in around 10 years as far as new IP's dveloped this gen go (possibly gears and Mass Effect depending on whether they milk the franchise beyond the trilogies and maybe Resistance developed by someone other than Insomniac).

Street Fighter! It will never die!

Starcraft 2 (Nevermind the damn franchise, the actual game will still be around thank you very much!)

Diablo 3 (Ditto!)

Way too many to count

4 ≈ One

maria, zelda, pokemon, Final Fantasy, GTA

... too many to post lol

I would also throw R&C in there as well. On top of all the others mentioned alreeady.

As well as the ones mentioned, Ratchet and Clank.

It's had, altogether, seven entries, plus one downloadable game and one game scheduled for 2009, and it isn't going anywhere.
