Last time I checked, every reliable gaming site played the two hour FFXIII demo SE released this year. There is no excuse.

I'd go with Fallout 3 easily... GOTY 2008 for me.

Been playing Fable II lately, and while it's a great game it its own right, It's not quite what I expected it to be... it's not as open-ended as advertised, and so far most of the quests have been pretty linear, plus since the locations in the game are all broken up into individual areas, and not one massive open world like in Fallout 3, it makes the game seem even more linear.

Have only played Mass Effect for a bit at a friend's house when it first came out... looked cool but I didn't really get into it or spend much time with it so I can't really judge it.

Its gonna be hard to get Best RPG of the year with FFXIII releasing. I mean, even if XIII isn't that good, being a main FF title alone gives it a good advantage.


You say this to me when FFXIII had a demo shown at E3 and still wasn't considered by anyone notable, to be the best RPG of E3? Mass Effect 2 won best RPG of E3, period. The only playable game that posed a threat to Mass Effect 2 was Uncharted 2 and that game is definitely 2009 GOTY. Mass Effect 2 has nothing to worry about in 2010, unless Sony has some hidden trick up their sleeve.

thats cause its already won awards last year...

No excuses now. If it was so great, it should've won E3 twice then. 2009 is the opportune time to choose an RPG of E3. The best RPG of 2009 was the definitive for what will be the best RPG's this year and next year.

I easily sunk 50+ hours into each of those games and enjoyed them all in their own way so it would be impossible for me to choose my favourite :(



nintendo and sega fan since i was old enough to hold a game controller.

note: my games collection on my profile is only 20ish% complete, i've got a boatload of 360,saturn and dreamcast games to add and a few ps3 games, thanks :)
