Xenogears is one of the best JRPG in the PS1 era. I agree it has a great story, the most important element in JRPG. I enjoy it and had great time playing it but for me Suikoden II have the greatest story. It's moving and touching. Friendship and betrayal. That's all I can say, I don't want to spoil it too much.

The story is great, but it gets lost in the second disc (when it's just thrown at you in big chunks of narration text). Xenogears and Xenosaga stories are really unique for the medium...makes me wonder why anyone would go into so much trouble for a videogame, it would've faired better as a manga/anime/movie/book series.

But its not for every one i guess (it demand some reading before the game)

Its just my opinion anyways but like "NoCtiS_NoX" said other sides helped Xenogears to become one of the greatest games in history.

But if we are talking of story alone (not the charters and the rpg elements)

Yes xenogear it´s the best rpg ( for me the better game of all time)
- The music is supperb
- The anime cutscene are great

The storyline is perfect

I demand an explanation why not!

Play Xenogears and you will understand why.
