1. As far as systems that came out in 2006 are concerned only the Wii is beating it. The PS3 is millions of units ahead of where 360 was last year. This is important remember that 360 came out in 2005.
2. The PS3 has outsold what Gamecube sold in 5 years. The difference? PS3 did it in 2 years.
3. The Ps3 plays sweet sexy blurays the Wii doesn't even play DVD's.
4. Speaking of Activision did you know that CoD: WaW on PS3 sold 3 times what it sold on Wii? This with half the userbase.
5. Let's talk about sales, you wanna talk about Madworld sales? No more Heroes? No, you probably want to focus more on Wii Fit or Nintendogs.
6. About the ten year plan: it might have been PR spin before this gen started but the success of the (not even HD) Wii pretty much ensures that Sony doesn't need to make a new console with upgraded specs for at least 10 years nor Microsoft for that matter.
As a Wii owner myself I find your lack of foresight disturbing.
Ttyl I'm gonna go play some EA Active. |
1. Even if PS3 had sold one unit, from the systems that came 2006, it would still be only Wii that would be beating PS3 in sales. Whether PS3 is selling better than 360 in the same timeframe is rather irrelevant, since it doesn't take away the difference in installbase. You should've used hardware failures instead.
2. It did. And also have outsold Dreamcast 2:1. I would have loved to read what was the meaning of this point.
3. And Wii plays Wii games, that PS3 doesn't. So far that has been a lot more important factor. Besides, what does this have to do with anything, unless you were proving
look how Sony fucked up.
4. Maybe you should look what it sold on 360 and PC if you want to compare things.
5. It's a lot better to compare best-sellers than low-selling games. The best-sellers show a lot better how a game can perform on a chosen platform. I'm quite sure we can find a game on DS that sold worse than "pick a random game" on PS3. However, total software sold and averages are more telling than either of the two above.
6. It depends what they want to sell. If Sony is having troubles while the platform is still "hot" (latest generation), they have even more of them whem with a last gen console.
