Shepard Will Be in Mass Effect 3

UK, June 19, 2009 - BioWare's Casey Hudson has shared more details on the highly anticipated Mass Effect 2 – and revealed that Shepard will be returning for the last game in the sci-fi RPG trilogy.
Early hype about the game suggested that Commander Shephard may suffer an untimely demise, although recent previews at E3 clarified that he will play a part in Mass Effect 2. Speaking on IGN's official blog on the game, executive producer Casey Hudson revealed that while it's possible to kill Shephard in Mass Effect 2, the character will return for the third and final game in the trilogy.
'If your Shepard dies in the end of Mass Effect 2, that's the end of him / her' said Hudson, 'In that case, you can play Mass Effect 3 as "a" Shepard – just not "your" Shepard. As in real life, not being able to keep living is really the main down-side of death. So if you care about playing the next game with your character, make sure you survive this one.'
