i have a 1080p sony XBR 40 inch complete with DTS surrond sound.. my setup is great. ALL i said is forza 2 a game thats more then 2 years old looks like crap to todays standards... motorstorm, GT5 pro, fuel, dirt, killzone 2 uncharted 2 are all games that prove this.. i dont think you have played forza 2 lately lol..
JUST because I say this does NOT mean i dont like it.. i love it but its BUT is has been out done over the years.... now forza 3 looks wonderful and proves that they can get MUCH more out of their engine on the xbox. |
Actually, I'm playing both games right now... All the GT5 and Forza 3 hype had me needing a racing fix so I've gone back to playing both.
Again, I think crap is a bad way to describe the Forza 2 car models. Are they as good as the most recent game releases? No, but they are still very, very good, even by today's newer standards. Also, I am only speaking about on-track gameplay. GT5:P really wen't all out on the car stills. Those are a thing of beauty but, alas, cannot be played.
good write up, to each his own sounds like a sound philosophy when buying games ... enjoy your GT5 gentlemen I will enjoy my forza

Better than GT5:P when all things are considered. When the FULL GT5 comes out, there is no doubt it will be an amazing game. But then so will Forza 3 so, again, just leave it alone." Since when is your opinion fact? |
When you don't offer your own to refute.
considering Forza 2 was made on Forza 1 engine i would say that it looks quite good. for me even Race Pro looks good so.

By far? GT5:5 car models are definitely better but trackside detail is quite poor. If you look at the reflections from the environment on the hood of the cars in GT5:P, you can see that they are VERY low resolution. Outside of the car models themselves, there isn't anything special about GT5:P's graphics. Forza does NOT look like crap. Are you playing on a high-def TV? Perhaps there is something I'm missing because the car models are very next-gen in Forza 2 -- very, very far from crap. As good as GT5:P? Certainly not but let's be honest here... It's not like PS2 vs. PS3 graphics, now is it? |
Have you really played the game? There is not 1 second of CGI in Prologue. I don't know what gave you that idea.
Nothing special outside the car models? Um... London track? The incredible lighting?
I don't know how anyone could say Forza 2 and Prologue are equal in graphics. Forza 3 is arguable, but 2? The car models are incredibly jaggy and proportionately innacurate. I can't name one racing game this gen that looks worse.

im floored by this.... can ANYONE put a video please because what i played is not gameplay?? thats crazy..... GT5 pro looks better thats a fact....
Eurogamer even states that prologue looks better than F3, thats debatable... F2 vs gt5p is not however... The car models in F2 looks like som cheap plastic bricks on wheels.

Do you want me to put up a vid of me playing GT5P? I can show you the lack of detail of the tracks or the slowdown that occurs quite often. The cars may look good but the overall graphical experience goes to Forza 2.
The only way GT is comparable is if you took a screenshot of the game. In motion Forza runs much smoother. Thats a fact.

The main complain for Forza over GT for me is the lack of good wheels support.
There are not many choices for Forza. MS wheel just doesn't cut it for a sim racer.
Fanatec has comparable high quality wheels coming out for the X360 but the price is too much for a person who already own a G25. And I don't understand the reason with the limited edition crap.
GT has a big selection of wheels and the wheels really take the driving experience to a different level.
You can get the decent DFGT for $100 or you can get the superior G25 for $200+ and there are many other choices.
Driving with a controller never felt like a sim.
