i called nintendo on the phone they told me i need to send my wii and smash bros brawl in for them to fix it ......... but why do they need brawl if it is just the system.........i cant seem to make sence of that ........does anyone have a explantion for this ............

its cool i no ur not being smart but dont it seem werid to u that nintendo needs brawl.....i hate to send it in to them......its the only game that dont work ... so werid huh....

If it's the only game that doesn't work, they probably want to make sure that the disc isn't screwed up, which is what it sounds like.

i wish i new of a way to fix it with out sendin it in ... be nice wouldnt it.....if i fix it ....it be fixed were nothin would ever work agian hehehehe....... maybe a mircale will happen and my wii will start playin brawl...........

Actually, he's right. You (not you specifically, generally speaking) could have had your wii malfunction out of warranty and claimed it was screwed up because of Brawl. Nintendo would then have to fix it for free, if they didn't require any proof. I can understand them trying to cut down on giving free repairs. And hey, it not as if you can play Brawl anyways, right? Might as well give it a little vacation!

Pretty much what izaaz said. I wasn't being smart. The context that brought it to Nintendo's attention that you own Brawl no doubt would explain why they need it.

If Brawls the only game that won't play then you can easily fix this issue yourself. Go to the store and pick up the Nintendo approved cleaning disc. Brawl is the only dual layer game and if your Wii is dirty it won't read the second track properly.

Nintendo asked my brother for his copy of Brawl as well but the problem was that he was renting the game. So they fixed it without any hassle.

In short, they do not need Brawl, they are probably just using that to cover all the bases.
