Forums - Nintendo - Is There A Reason Nintendo Never Goes to TGS?

Topic says it all, i suppose. I was wondering, after people incorrectly speculated here, that Nintendo might show up. I've heard some reasons, probably false, but has Nintendo ever given a specific reason to why they very rarely do that show (and never do the public part of the show), if they haven't given a reason, what could it be?

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Back in the day, Nintendo had their own "Spaceworld" conference in Japan in August and they didn't see the value in going to another expo. Today, I believe that they focus on producing small displays throughout the summer in Japan to give the public a chance to try out upcomming games; and once again TGS is redundant.

I am not sure if that is the reazon....but the TGS is patronized by Sony and maybe that affects Nintendo intentions to assist this event....Otherwise, I think some years they have showed up so I still doubt...

Meh. They have ve been holding those Fall Conferences which have been much better than TGS anyways.

I swear TGS 07 and 08 sucked hard.

they hold their own conferences which allow them to show not only japaneese products but also western products simultaneously in a way which allows them to show things that they do not have time/room for at E3

Pretty much exactly what this says. Nintendo's Spaceworld was an annual showing until, I think, 2000. That's the last one I can think of and Nintendo was showing off the GameCube and new Zelda trailer that got many fans hopes up, cause it was awesome, and quickly dashed the next few years with The Wind Waker, though I personally loved the game.

Seriously, that Zelda teaser is still amazing to watch.

Yeah, the trailer with a realistic looking Zelda.

Wind Waker was shown at SpaceWorld 2001. That was the last SW.

Oh yeah that's right. I remember reading about in Game Informer. I think I have that issue in storage. GC vs Xbox on the cover. First one I got.
