Yeah persona 3: FES is a bad ass game i personally liked persona 4 better.

Wow, I kind of see myself in Val right now! I never played any of the so-called awesome JRPGs from Atlus before, but I want to try a game from them eventually and I was thinking about starting a Persona game myself.

I want to test Persona 4, but I have a few questions first: do I have to play the other ones to understand what's going on? Do I also have to know a bit about the Japanese culture (which doesn't interest me much to be honest), as in is the series so hardcore that some things happening in the game should be too obvious?

No to both questions There are some Japanese words and phrases used, but you'll understand what they mean after repeated usage. I knew pretty much nothing about Japanese culture before I started, and I was totally fine.

I got 10 with Chichiro and 4 with Yuko and I have 8 main opponents defeated (so around 3-4 months more i think). I also maxed tv guy and Keichi plus i have 9 points in online game :D
