Forums - Gaming - who wishes for motion control to die.

I love all casual carp(run dwarves run!) for consoles as they make them more casual and way less attractive for real gamers. Consoles have always been one step for more casual games. I guess now they are ready to make one more step towards casual games.

wii has sold because of the casual market.

Gintama is the funniest show EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!

so all you guys are fine with being beta testers for the industry.

I hear the graphics on the next gen consoles is going to be an improvement. Sure sucks being a beta tester of the graphics this generation...

Anyway their is nothing wrong with motion controls, just developers who decided to use it in situations that are inappropriate. I mean, would people be calling racing wheels stupid if a developer decided to use one for a platformer or would they be calling the developer stupid instead?

Me. Wii Fit sells 20M. But do you really need an $80 game and balance board to PRETEND to Hula Hoop? Look, I'm playing Wii Fit right now without even owning the game

/proceeds to pretend hula hoop

Sorta like I don't need to spend $60 on a game like CoD to PRETEND I'm shooting people (with my thumbs).  Look, I'm playing CoD right now without even owning the game.

Motion controls are just like regular controllers. Its all controller trickery. My gf flicks her arm and knocks down the entire Boom Blox tower with 1 ball...while I throw a fast ball at the TV and dont do a dent.

Until they create true motion controls which reflect user inputs and are not susseptable to trickery...I am with you, and they can die.

That's one tough TV!

I do.

Because what's wrong with using a control it's the best.

If you get motion control and be shaking your arms around like you are some crazy idiot.

Answer me this: What is natural or superior to doing videogame golf or bowling with some joypad or joystick control?  Do you want to force the world to have to do these games this way?  How about a game like Guitar Heroes or Rock Band?  Do you want the world to have to play these like with a normal controller?  How about driving games?

I will say properly done motion control allows a degree of movement not doable with a normal controller.  It can add much more granularity to moves.  It also solves the issue of future game requiring unique controllers.

The type of control depends on the game.  And some games are meant for joystick or joypad controllers.

You're right.

And that's why the comptetition is getting slaughtered. Corporate copying of motion control, on the way.

@ OP: You're just feeling sad because you're no longer relavent. It's okay. Now you know how PC gamers feel. I've been waiting 7 years for a new Mech Sim to come out. I'm gonna keep waiting.
