Forums - Sony - SotC has sold over 1million...

because its now a greatest hits at Gamestop(which is only for games that have reached at least 1million sold). Sort of meaningless but just thought I would put that info out there. I belive VG has it around .90million or something.

Not meaningless...more ppl need to play one of the best PS2 games ever

A game doesn't need 1 million copies to be a Greatest Hit.

For PS2 it is the requirement of being out on the market for at least 9 months, and sold more than 400,000 copies (I'm guessing NA alone).

With PSP Sony ditched the requirements and usually just use higher sellers or games they think deserve the push. Same with Platinum.

PS3 might use PS2 requirements, or none at all. I imagine all the games they use will meet those requirements anyway.

Need to try this game out sometime this summer.

Im pretty sure there is no real requirement for the "Greatest Hits"/"Platinum Hits"/"Players Choice" other than the company trying to push it. EIther way odds are it sold a crapton in the US due to it being in the bargain bin for years now. I'm planing to buy a copy next time I spot a non greatest hits version.

Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.

Nintendo Treehouse is what happens when a publisher is confident and proud of its games and doesn't need to show CGI lies for five minutes.

Gamestop also have Okami as a "Greatest Hits".

More than likely it did, assuming that Others can account for 70k. Which I assume it can.

...

I am pretty sure it was exclusive title for 1milly sellers(for at least on PS2 and PS3) that have been out for a certain number of years. PSP's and PSN games I suspect can achieve GH by getting 500k or more but thats becuz of different userbase types etc.

It's all based on region. Something like 400k for NA and Europe, and 200k for Japan. Then the game also has to have been out for at least 9 months or something like that.

Though sometimes more niche games slip through the cracks a long time after they've released, like Okami and Disgaea. I'm not sure if Capcom/NIS worked out a deal with Sony for those or if the requirements for ps2 games in NA changed after the ps3 started picking up steam.

If it sold over 400k in NA, it'll be Greatest Hits.

And it DEFINITELY sold more than a million worldwide. It's amazing how few people don't notice when there are no Others numbers, when the two games are named "Shadow of the Colossus (NA sales)" and "Shadow of the Colossus (JP Sales)
