Forums - Sales - Wario Land: Shake It! rises from the ashes

Wario Land: Shake It! is a game that has sold pretty well. Not amazingly, but it started off low and has kept a somewhat steady pace. It has always been my belief that, somewhere down the line, this title will reach a million. Now, it suddenly seems like this will happen sooner rather than later.

Here is a chart detailing the weekly sales of Wario Land: Shake It!

http://vgchartz.com/swlaunch.php?reg1=All&game1=Wario+Land%3A+Shake+It!+-+Wii&reg2=All&game2=&reg3=All&game3=&weeks=50&weekly=1

You will notice that, over the last few weeks, weekly sales have steadily been growing. This is largely due to the Others region, where the title has suddenly started selling a lot better. Just a few weeks ago, it sold about 2,000 copies, but this week it's just 20 copies shy of 6,000. A very interesting trend indeed. As far as I know, there's no reason for this sales bump. I have seen no price cuts or such, but maybe I just haven't been attentive enough. Just thought I'd share this with all of you.

Maybe its an E3 Mario announcement bump. Being sold alongside copies of SMG?

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

Well, whatever the reason this is good news.

This is a good game that has a lot of depth to it despite what many people have said.

megaman79, it started rising a few weeks before E3.

amp316, agreed. This game truly deserves to hit the one million mark, and honestly far beyond that as well.

Well I always meant buying this guy, might as well do it now (we'll see if the price is down in my area). Gotta get some 2D platformer action before SMB Wii hits!

Elaine: I will never understand people

Jerry: They're the worst.

When it hits that benchmark, I hope you'll all join me for a celebratory "WAA-HAAAAAAAHHHH".

im not a huge platformer guy aside from NSMB DS, but man do i love wario, ive got all the ware games.

i really should buy this sooner or later.

i think people are just like me, they ran out of other games to buy, why not shake it?

Last year's game of the year turned out to be Silent Hill : Shattered Memories (online GOTY was COD 6).  This year's GOTY leader to me is Heavy Rain.

This is one game I've been interesting in for some time, but it was always expensive (like most Nintendo games). Does anyone know how long is it?

If only they could drop the price... It doesn't bother me to buy a 2D platformer ( really not, I like 2D Marios and Wario Land on GBC) but this one is too short for 50€...
