Forums - Nintendo - Three Wii games you should be really cautious about. (MH3,Muramasa,Fragile)

Not because they're bad games (I have 2 out of the 3) but because they're not what you might think. They all have one thing in common and thats the mistake of labeling them as RPGs. Monster Hunter I think has gotten past that already but Fragile and Muramasa sure as hell haven't. Im gonna explain but keep it short.

Monster Hunter 3 - This games doesnt look like its gonna change the gameplay too much from the PSP version. Ive played A PSP Monster Hunter and just felt the scope was a little too much for a handheld. Anyways this game has no targeting system. It makes hitting targets a hell of a lot harder in this game and well frustrate many. The majority of characters are also slow no matter what you choose. Thats just the way Monster Hunter is and can feel clunky with some controls they put in. I still cant understand why you have to equip and un-equip weapons  manually. You aslo build up weapons not character stats.

Its not an RPG its an adventure game thats plays a lot different from what youre gonna be use to. Its hard but if you take the time to learn the controls you can have fun with it. I do predict a lot of people getting frustrated and hating the game though.

Muramasa:The Demon Blade - This has been getting criticism due to dumbasses not knowing what they're playing. This game is NOT an RPG. Its not a ARPG. Its an Action game with RPG elements. Its not uncommon for game to have light RPG elements and this is what Muramasa has. Maybe a little more but still definitly not enough to be called an RPG.

Muramasa is an action game with RPG elements. If you go in there expecting some traditional 2D RPG game because of the mislabeling you will be disappointed. That said I still think this game is amazing and cant wait for localization to actually understand the story.

Fragile - This one game has the look of a traditional RPG but its so not. Most of you might already know this but some might not. This game is more adventure and exploring. Even Survival-Horror. Its heavy on story and really light on combat/action. The combat also isnt that great. What will keep you going is going is the story and how much fun you have exploring the world.

Fragile isnt a ARPG. The action is real time but its not heavy or dependent on it. The main game is exploring and story. If you dont think  you can handle lonesome journey and heavy story you will not like this game. If you wanna just fight this game is not for you.

Well I think this was short enough for each individual game.......hope I informed some people.

I knew what each is and want each still ^_^

Former something....

I don't think Monster Hunter 3 will be for me and I haven't gotten around to reading about Fragile yet, but I don't think I'm going to get Muramasa.

I'm kind of on the fence leaning towards no. They did make it easier than Odin Sphere which I like but they didn't translate it and only has subtitles which I don't like. If I'm going to get a game because it's pretty, I don't want to sit there and look at the subtitles instead of the fantastic art.

They all look like great games--especially Fragile

What's a 'game drought'?

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

Oh, three great games for the Wii....and all of them are from 3rd parties!
Does anybody know when is Monster Hunter 3 going to arrive to Europe and America? It would be great to have this game for the holiday season, but I'm afraid it's a bit too early.

This is coming from someone who only watches anime with subs: You can easily watch and read at the same time.

In general, I hate subtitles.  My wife use to try to drag me to foreign movies and was always angry I had to read the movies.  I've tried watching animes with subs and I'm always angry I have to read them.  I just don't like subs, especially when it detracts from something as good looking as that game.

Thats why everything should be watched/played in a language you understand.

...good thing I understand Japanese...

Muramasa I'm definitely getting. I'm on the fence with Fragile. I might wait until it drops price a few months after release. Monster Hunter I might just give it a rent to see what the big fuss is about.

Honestly, I think its, quite simply, lame that they aren't dubbing Muramasa. I do watch alot of anime, both subbed and dubbed. I gotta say, I'm fan of dubs more than subs. I don't really care for that "it authentic in Japanese" crap some people blurt out. I'll watch subs, don't hate them, but I prefer dubs.
