LoL. So what does that say about the PS3 BM? That with or without compelling software, PS3 still can't manage to outsell a Console with no notable releases? Which position would you rather be in? The concerning thing is where are those big games now? SF4? Re5?barely if at all in the top 20, maybe in the top thirty? MK is still there, Wii sports, Wii Fit etc.

If the Wii sells less than 20 million in 2009 (as defined by VGC sales between week ending 3d Jan 2009 to week ending 4th Jan 2010) Slimebeast wins and get to control Arius Dion's sig for 1 month.

Well everyone said the only reason the PS3 outsold it was because stuff like RE5 came out week after week, yet the Wii still sold comparably without any releases. Why does it sell such high numbers when no games come out, if the excuse for the PS3 outselling was that fact that games indeed came out for that system (for the PS3, I mean)?

I'm thinking in a similar situation to last year release of Animal Crossing on Wii. AC is really popular on DS but the Wii version didn't fill the expectatives from Nintendo, probably NSMB'll do the same. (or maybe not)

Alfredo, it is a possibilty, but even AC went platinum in Japan, I don't think PS3 has had ONE title go platinum in Japan yet.

You are changing the topic. No one is talking about the quality of the games but rather the appeal of the games.

Maybe in your opinion, Wii Fit is not a better game than RE5 or SF4 but in Japan, it is a more appealing game to the Japanese consumers which is why it sells much longer than the other games. You can't understand why it's appealing does not mean others have to find it unattractive as well.

This isn't Animal Crossing, this is Super Mario. New Super Mario Bros. Wii will outsell Final Fantasy XIII.

Here are som Sales for Final Fantasy games in japan.

Final Fantasy IX-2.80 million

Final Fantasy XI Online- .15 million

Final Fantasy VIII- 3.64 million

Final Fantasy XII- 2.42 million

Final Fantasy X- 3.02 million

Final Fantasy VII-3.93

So these are some of the Highest selling in the FF franchise

 

New Super Mario Bros. sales are nearing 6 million in japan.

it stands at 5.66 million.

 

No game in the FF series have crossed the 4 million let alone the 5 million (like 14 main series games, 14

different times to try and achieve this) the Super Mario line of games has achieved the 5 million mark TWICE in only four main series games!

 

 

to answer your question in laymans terms, NSMB Wii is bigger than final fantasy XIII
